The consulting and project management expertise and skills that I can offer your company or organisation are based on my practical experience at Chief Executive level, most recently through my role in leading the establishment of Edinburgh’s new Destination Promotion Organisation, and previously in my role as Head of Economic Development for the City of Edinburgh.

I have a proven track record of success in maximising the economic value and potential for destinations through the development of strategy and practical implementation through the realisation of creative and effective initiatives and projects.  This is based on an understanding of customer needs, market trends, infrastructure and product development, and place marketing and promotion.

I have particular strengths in leading and nurturing effective multi partner collaborations through the identification of common purpose and agreement on strategic direction.  I have skills and expertise in place marketing across tourism, talent attraction and trade and inward investment, and brand development and management.  I believe, based on four years managing Edinburgh’s Winter Festivals and involvement in other major events, that festivals and events are powerful drivers of place promotion and are a central aspect of a destinations product mix and visitor experience.
